OVERVIEW
FULLY DEMINERALIZED WATER
DI systems use two types of resin. The cation resin captures positive ions like calcium and sodium, and the anion resin captures negative ions like chloride and sulfate. What leaves the system is pure, demineralized water.
The resins are regenerated automatically with acid and caustic. DI is used on its own, or as final polishing after RO with a mixed-bed unit.
TYPICAL USES
- Boiler and cooling tower feed
- Laboratory and pharmaceutical water
- Battery and electroplating water
- Polishing after RO
HOW IT WORKS
INSIDE A DI SYSTEM
Water passes through a cation resin vessel, then an anion resin vessel. A mixed-bed unit can be added for the highest purity. Conductivity meters check the water quality online.
