OVERVIEW
CLEAR WATER, LAYER BY LAYER
Multimedia filters use layers of anthracite, sand and gravel with different grain sizes. Coarse layers trap large particles at the top, and fine layers catch the smaller ones below, so the whole bed works and the filter runs longer between cleanings.
The filters are backwashed automatically, and are used on their own or as the first stage before carbon filters, cartridge filters and RO.
TYPICAL USES
- Pretreatment before RO
- Well and surface water treatment
- Cooling towers and swimming pools
- Irrigation water filtration
HOW IT WORKS
INSIDE A MULTIMEDIA FILTER
Water flows down through the media bed and leaves through the underdrain. When the bed is full of dirt, water is pushed back up to wash it clean, automatically.
