OVERVIEW
SAFE DRINKING WATER FROM NITRATE-POLLUTED WELLS
Fertilizers and wastewater can raise nitrate in well water above safe drinking water limits. High nitrate is a health risk, especially for babies. Nitrate removal systems use a special resin that captures nitrate and releases harmless chloride in its place.
Like a softener, the resin is regenerated automatically with salt brine, so running costs stay low. The nitrate-selective resin targets nitrate even when other salts are present.
TYPICAL USES
- Drinking water from wells
- Villages and rural communities
- Farms and agricultural areas
- Bottled water and food production
HOW IT WORKS
INSIDE A NITRATE REMOVAL SYSTEM
STEP 1
Raw water
Tap, well, river or sea
STEP 1
Well water
High in nitrate
STEP 2
Pre-filtration
Removes solids
STEP 1
Raw water
Tap, well, river or sea
STEP 3
Nitrate resin
Captures nitrate, releases chloride
STEP 1
Raw water
Tap, well, river or sea
Well water is filtered, then flows through the nitrate-selective resin. When the resin is full, salt brine washes the nitrate out and the system is ready again.
STEP 4
Brine regeneration
Salt cleans the resin automatically
STEP 1
Raw water
Tap, well, river or sea
STEP 5
Soft water
Nitrate below drinking limits
KEY FEATURES
WHY CHOOSE OUR NITRATE REMOVAL SYSTEMS
