OVERVIEW
ONE TANK DOES IT ALL
SBR is well suited to both industrial and municipal wastewater. Instead of several separate tanks, it uses a single batch reactor for equalization, aeration and clarification, in a timed cycle.
This makes the plant compact and flexible, and very effective at removing pollutants including COD, BOD, ammonia, nitrate and phosphorus.
TYPICAL USES
- Towns and villages
- Hotels, compounds and camps
- Industrial wastewater
- Sites with changing daily flows
HOW IT WORKS
ONE TANK, FIVE PHASES
Each SBR tank runs the same cycle again and again: it fills, treats, settles and releases clean water, all controlled automatically.
STEP 1
Raw water
Tap, well, river or sea
STEP 1
Fill
Wastewater enters the reactor
STEP 2
React
Aeration and biological treatment
STEP 1
Raw water
Tap, well, river or sea
STEP 3
Settle
Sludge settles, no clarifier needed
STEP 1
Raw water
Tap, well, river or sea
STEP 4
Decant
Clear treated water is drawn off
STEP 1
Raw water
Tap, well, river or sea
STEP 5
Idle
Excess sludge removed, ready to restart
