1- Project Details
This government-initiated project serves a vital community with a population of over 700,000. Its objective is to provide clean drinking water through environmentally responsible practices. The initiative reflects national goals of improving infrastructure, public health, and access to safe water.

2- Customer Need
The community in the project area faced an acute shortage of clean drinking water, relying solely on a highly turbid river as its source. With the population growing and health concerns mounting, the government required an advanced, sustainable water treatment solution to deliver safe water and improve public health and quality of life.
3- Challenge
Flowing through Central Africa, this river is one of the continent’s longest and serves as a lifeline for communities alongside its banks—supporting agriculture, fishing, and transport. In one village with a population of 734,350, the river is the only water source. However, despite its proximity, the community has endured over five years of dry taps, leaving many households without access to clean drinking water. Families, particularly children, are burdened with fetching water daily, often at a cost. The situation is worsened by the river’s increasing turbidity, caused by high levels of impurities and industrial waste discharged by nearby factories, further degrading the water quality.

4- Aqualine Solution
To address the crisis, AQUALINE implemented a comprehensive river water treatment plant to deliver clean, safe water to the community. The solution enhances water quality, reduces health risks, and supports sustainable development. Key components include a pump station with chlorination dosing, coagulation and flocculation tanks, a lamella clarifier, intermediate tank, filtration unit, and full instrumentation with connectivity. The plant is also supplied with essential spare parts, ensuring reliable, long-term operation and emphasizing the need for sustainable water management and pollution control.
5- Impact & Environmental Effect
The Aqualine intervention delivered tangible and immediate benefits:
- Treated water meets drinking standards.
- Needs for an entire village for clean water were addressed.
- Treated water used for plant irrigation and other human uses.
- The container system is utilized to optimize space for processing equipment.
- Fully automated system with remote control capabilities through phone apps.
5- Performance
This project is a model of water resilience and sustainability. Aqualine's solution improves water security while minimizing energy consumption and maintenance. It contributes to health, socio-economic development, and environmental protection setting a precedent for similar rural and semi-urban regions across Africa.
