1- Project Details

This project was commissioned by municipal authorities in Morocco to provide decentralized drinking water solutions using mobile desalination units. The initiative aimed to serve remote coastal and underserved regions lacking reliable access to safe water, especially during periods of drought or infrastructure limitations.

2- Customer Need

The end user required flexible, high-performance seawater treatment systems capable of being rapidly deployed to different sites. The goal was to ensure safe, potable water for communities across various regions using standardized, containerized units that could be relocated based on seasonal or emergency needs.

3- Challenge

The main challenge was converting seawater into high-quality drinking water across multiple locations using mobile units that are compact and easily transportable, efficient in removing high salinity and marine contaminants, quick to set up in remote or coastal environments, and reliable under varying conditions with minimal manpower.

4- AQUALINE Solution

AQUALINE Water Technology designed and supplied 21 containerized SWRO systems, combining durability, automation, and portability. Each unit included full pre-treatment, high-pressure RO membranes, post-treatment, and control systems—all housed in ISO-standard containers. The systems were delivered ready-to-operate, requiring minimal civil works and providing consistent drinking water output.

  • Supported Morocco’s water security strategy amid climate challenges

  • Provided a sustainable, mobile solution adaptable to future needs

6- Performance

The systems are currently in operation, delivering reliable and consistent drinking water across the designated sites. Performance metrics show excellent salt rejection, low energy consumption, and minimal operational downtime.
