1- Project Details
AQUALINE Water Technology supplied a carbon filtration system with a capacity of 1,800 CMD to a bottled water production facility in Yemen. The system was designed to treat well water used as the main source for the plant’s drinking water bottling operations. The treatment focused on removing chlorine, organic compounds, odor, and taste issues to ensure the water met bottled water quality standards.
2- Customer Need
The client required a high-capacity, food-grade filtration system that could ensure stable water quality and support continuous bottling operations. Given the use of well water as the feed source, the system needed to effectively reduce organic impurities and chlorine, while offering a hygienic design that could be sterilized regularly. The plant also needed a system that could integrate smoothly into its existing process line with minimal operational disruption.
3- Challenge
The challenge was to deliver a reliable filtration solution capable of treating well water with variable organic content, while also meeting the strict hygiene requirements of a bottled water facility. The system had to support steam-based sterilization, a feature that required robust material selection and precise engineering to ensure safety, performance, and durability under high-temperature cleaning cycles.
4- Impact & Environmental Effect
-
The delivered solution enabled the plant to:
-
Achieve consistent water quality suitable for bottling and commercial distribution
-
Maintain high levels of hygiene through integrated steam disinfection
-
Enhance production efficiency by minimizing filter downtime and manual cleaning
-
Reduce reliance on chemical-based disinfection methods
-
Ensure long-term system durability and operational reliability
5- Performance
Since commissioning, the system has provided stable and efficient filtration performance, contributing to product consistency and regulatory compliance. The steam sterilization feature has proven highly effective in supporting routine sanitation procedures, helping the client maintain high-quality standards in production.
